Who we are
Two and a Half Fat Sisters is an entertainment company founded by 3 sisters, Atiya Hyanes, Aqila Benjamin, and Amika Berger with the goal of stopping body shaming and spreading body positivity.
As the oldest and half fat sister and I want to welcome you to the movement. I am the Manager of Operations and Director of Community Outreach for 2 1/2 Fat Sister's Ent. I am a DC native who loves to meet new people and have a good time. I have a 9 year old daughter named Aliya who you may have seen on season 1 of Fat Girl City. Like my sister Sweetpea I love cats. No matter their size, all women struggle with some sort of body issue. After having a child, I realized you didn't have to be a size 20 to struggle with weight. I joined the movement for all the mom's out there with the extra weight that struggle with embracing it. While learning to love myself again and become healthy , I am also learning that there is life after becoming plus size.

Growing up as the middle child and the heaviest it was always hard for me to feel accepted. Although I have a supportive and loving family I still struggled with self confidence issues. I overcame them through fashion. Then I wanted to help others like me so I started to do personal styling. Styling has always been a passion of mine. An outlet really. It helps me restores confidence in people. There is nothing like looking in the mirror and loving the way you look. I have had women cry to me about feeling ugly and not wanting to look into a mirror. I used to be one of them. But what I told them was "Yes I can dress you up BUT that's only temporary. You have to learn to love your interior first." I am a proud #BodyPositiveAmbassador that advocates for anyone who is battling self confidence issues. Just know that your not alone. Let's grow to loving ourselves together!
Amika commonly known as Sweetpea, is the youngest of the 2 1/2 Fat Sisters family. I'm full of personality and many would say im the "tell it like it is" kind of woman. Just recently married to my best friend Joretha Berger and the proud mom of two cats!! I'm full of confidence and you can usually tell through my personality and my risky and bold fashion choices. I tend to push the limits when it comes to what society says fat girls cant do and/or wear. I got tired of hearing females tell me "I wish I had the confidence like you do." Or commonly saying things like "Im too fat to wear that." In my mind I'm thinking who told you those lies? I just got tired of fuller figured women saying what they can't do! I wanted to create a platform for plus size women to be in the spotlight with the hopes of building self confidence if needed. It is important to me for the plus size community to know that their size isn't a henderance but your lack of confidence can be. So I put my creative mind to work and came up with a plus size webseries which gave me and my sister's the idea for our entertainment company. We all wanted to create something that showed diversity within the plus size community. And we hope that you enjoy all we have to offer!!
